Wednesday Nights at Shu Restaurant

Shu Restaurant, in the heart of Collingwood, offers a Sichuan degustation feast. On Wednesday nights, said feast is vegan style for those curious for some vegan Sichuan flavours with a modern-day streak.

Shu is home to spicy fusion flavours and edgy, industrial-strength décor to match. As each course is delivered to the table, eyes are pulled away from the chains hanging overhead to admire Shu Restaurant’s attention to detail in every dish. All ingredients are sourced locally and seasonal so new dishes are served each week.

There is a considered approach to be found in Shu’s full-flavoured dishes such as Daikon rolls, stuffed tofu and pan roasted eggplant, complemented seamlessly by a refreshing bottle of cider. Kaleidoscopic lighting and stomping electronica underscore Shu’s commanding culinary experience.

Wednesday nights at Shu is a must for any Melburnian armed with a daring foodie streak and enthusiastic dinner company to boot. Anyone who is left with a teeny spot in their bellies by the end, which will be difficult to achieve, can be served a slice of raw avocado cheesecake at an additional charge which can soothe any pending dessert cravings.

Spice up your midweek at Shu Restaurant 147 Johnston Street, Collingwood Victoria. Phone: 03 9090 7878. Open Wednesday to Sunday 6pm to 10.30pm. Shu offers its vegan degustation menu for $45 per person on Wednesday nights. Drinks and desserts are extra.
