Vintage Shopping on Smith Street

Smith Street hugs the suburbs of Fitzroy and Collingwood in Melbourne, offering its visitors an edgy shopping experience.
Smith Street has existed in Melbourne’s inner fringe since the city’s first land sub-division in 1838 and has grown into a prime destination for those seeking a decent brunch and quirky shops in which to spend their cash.

Smith Street is Melbourne’s first suburban shopping strip and now plays host to a couple of hotspots where vintage curios meet urban demand.

Lost & Found Market is a double-storey warehouse stocked full of vintage clothing, accessories, furniture and prints. The space is divided into smaller factions, each selling the vintage wares of a local trader.

The aptly named Smith Street Bazaar occupies a bright ground space as well as a loft, showcasing prized prints, clothing, lamps and angular furniture reminiscent of the mid-20th century.

While Lost & Found Market prides itself on hot-ticketed clothing items for its keen shoppers, it’s the immaculate second-hand furniture that gives Smith Street Bazaar its walk-through appeal.
