2013 has been an amazing year for Fire & Tea and my efforts have paid off.
My blog has achieved some unexpected milestones this year, such as:
- Publishing Fire & Tea’s very first sponsored post One Billion Tourists, One Billion Responsibilities
- Reaping the benefits of local travel from discovering street art and stepping back in time to eating a smorgasbord of delicious meals
- Road-testing a wonderful culinary experience for RedBalloon
- Bringing the beautiful Fire & Tea logo to life
- Gradually building lovely connections with fellow bloggers, editors, readers and followers
Not only has my work on Fire & Tea attracted some modest attention, my freelance efforts have made the rounds too:
- Writing my very first Whileaway Guide
- Profiling local businesses for Chapel Street Precinct
- Reading one of my travel articles that was printed in gloss for the first time
- Patiently waiting for a few more articles to be published online
And, there was a massive personal highlight for me this year too. Some of you already know that I tutor English voluntarily to migrants in my area and it’s a beneficial way to share culture as well as newfound skills. My current student successfully passed her Australian Citizenship test not too long ago which means she and her two daughters can officially call Australia home.
It’s motivating to start the New Year with so much positivity and I’m already booked in for some amazing fun for the first half of 2014. I can’t wait for the new year to start.
