Travelling the Vegan Road is Easy. Knowledge is the First Step.

You’ll be very familiar with actor Joaquin Phoenix’s acceptance speech at the Oscars this week. I’m assuming you would be, because it attracted mainstream media attention as well as applause from the international vegan community.

Joaquin Phoenix is vegan and he is fortunate to have a vast platform from which he can communicate his vegan message. A win at the Oscars meant he could deliver a wider message. We should all work towards a better world that rejects the abuse and manipulation of others. In his words, “we’re talking about the fight against injustice…when we help each other to grow, when we educate each other, when we guide each other towards redemption. That is the best of humanity.”  He ended his moving speech by quoting lyrics written by his late bother River:  “Run into the rescue with love and peace will follow.”

We are now facing a point in time when it’s never been easier to travel the vegan road, made easier by the coverage that the vegan lifestyle is receiving. The most crucial way to travel the vegan road is to be armed with the necessary information needed. We are also living during a time when information is at our fingertips and it’s easy to gather the information you need in order to travel vegan. I’ve always lived a life of pursuing knowledge, pursuing detail and pursuing the facts. For me, knowledge is power and knowledge has the ability to elevate all of us to lead a richer, more mindful and caring life.

So, how do I keep learning how to travel the vegan road? How do I keep up to date with the progress in veganism, so I can bring you the news that’s breaking in the vegan world? I thought I would share my favourite resources with you so that you can tap into that extra vegan knowledge, too.  There are some links below that aren’t all entirely vegan but you can veganise recipes, you can veganise a point of view with your own and you can attract discerning, vegan information into your life.

Below are my Top 5 for vegan news and Top 5 for vegan recipes. I hope you can mine these sites for their valuable vegan information so you, too, can travel the vegan road. And, of course, you can subscribe to my Fire & Tea newsletter.
