World Vegan Day is the Best Day to Try Vegan

World Vegan Day has been celebrated on November 1 each year since 1994. Back then, English animal rights activist Louise Wallis was looking for a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vegan Society and so World Vegan Day was born. As vegans prepare to celebrate World Vegan Day, many non-vegans or vegan-curious might also be thinking about going vegan or at least giving it a go.

I’m vegan curious, so when should I try it out?

According to reports from Vegan Easy here in Australia, Australian meat consumption is down by 5.5% in the last two years. As we inch closer to World Vegan Day, this is the best time for those of you who are plant-curious to try the vegan lifestyle; a lifestyle that’s cruelty-free and sustainable. So, why not try going vegan for the whole month of November? Any day is a good day to try vegan, though November 1 – World Vegan Day – is the best day to start. Why not make a special occasion out of it?

OK, November 1 it is. Where to, now?

Going vegan may sound daunting, but it’s easy when you have the right support systems in place. Vegan Easy, along with their partner Vegan Australia, have put together a 30-Day Challenge so you don’t have to fumble your way through the month on a whim. The Vegan Easy 30-Day Challenge has been held for ten years now, so this is the most comprehensive and supportive 30-Day program at an international level.

If you register for the Vegan Easy 30-Day Challenge, you’ll receive all the support you need. You’ll receive recipes, meal plans by an accredited practising dietitian, emails and videos containing vegan advice as well as access to an exclusive support group of experienced vegan mentors. And, yes, registration is free.  To help keep you motivated, and if you complete the challenge, you have a chance to win a prize pack that includes Nestar artisan chocolates, and a voucher from beauty and homecare business Its Oil Good.

If you sign up before November 1, you have a chance to win prizes from Australian Vegans, the Fussy Vegan app, Herbidoor meal delivery business, Larrykin Dog Treats, author Kathy Divine, Koala Eco home and body products, PBNutrition dietetic consultancy, Treat Yo Self ice cream, vEEF by Fenn Foods, Vegan Grocery Store, Zacchary Bird (popular vegan chef and cookbook author).

But what if I can’t start on November 1, even though I’m up for the challenge?

If you can’t start on November 1, that’s fine. The best thing about the Vegan Easy 30-Day Challenge is that you can start anytime. Just pick your date and sign up when you want.

I can’t wait for November 1 to start. Can I do some groundwork now before the challenge?

If course you can. If you check out Vegan Easy’s website, you’ll find a stack of extra resources such as their vegan pantry and planning ideas, plus their vegan dining out guide if you’re not keen on cooking this weekend. If you’re not in Australia, you can search the Happy Cow website and app to find vegan spots near you.

If you do decide to try 30 days of going vegan, then I wish you luck and love for the fun journey ahead. You won’t regret it!
