The Lamb Care Australia Vegan Bake Sale: Meet the Vegan Bakers and Makers

Lamb Care Australia’s first vegan bake sale fundraiser for 2023 is on Saturday April 22 at The Vegan Grocery Store in Fitzroy.

To help with the fundraising, some of Melbourne’s tastiest vegan bakers and makers are donating their treats. All funds raised from the sale will help the organisation save more lambs this year.

So, which bakers and makers can you expect on Saturday? Let’s meet the businesses that will be generously donating their vegan treats to the cause.

Ana’s Gourmet Treats

Ana’s gourmet treats are hand-made and inspired by Ana’s Portuguese heritage and traditions. Ingredients are sourced by local and Australian producers and businesses where possible, to make gorgeous and decadent chocolate-coated slices. These vegan-friendly ‘pillows’ are filled with berry, chocolate or caramel fillings. Ana’s purpose is simple: “To handcraft with love heavenly treats that bring joy and pleasure to people.”

Choc Chip Hip

Choc Chip Hip makes New Your-style cookies with a wholesome twist. These vegan cookies are made from wholefood ingredients to being you flavours like Choc Chip, Biscoff and Peanut Butter Jam. Choc Chip Hip is garnering attention at many of their pop-up market stalls around Melbourne, and they even stock local businesses in the outer east. Choc Chip Hip is another vegan small business that is generous to support a cause such as Lamb Care Australia.

Evagreen

Eva from Evagreen began her vegan business journey at home to provide her, her friends and family with delicious vegan desserts. She wanted to make desserts that looked familiar, tasted delicious and catered to various dietary restrictions. Evagreen is now supplying to cafes around Melbourne, to offices and events as well as direct to customers’ homes. Bliss balls, brownies, Snickers bars, muffins and cakes all form part of Eva’s extensive vegan menu.

Mister Nice Guy’s Bakeshop

Mister Nice Guy’s is one of Melbourne’s main-stayers when it comes to decadent vegan baked goods. This all-vegan bakery and café was the first vegan bakery for the city and they’ve been baking since 2010. All the vegan baked treats are on offer – cupcakes, cakes and tiered cakes, patisserie items such as buns and donuts. Mister Nice Guy’s has been a donor to Lamb Care Australia’s vegan bake sales from the beginning and their generosity continues this year.

Oh Darlin’ Vegan Baked Goods

When it comes to Oh Darlin’ Vegan Baked Goods, think colour, think sweetness and think fun! From hyper-coloured iced donuts to Biscoff vanilla slices, yo-yos and Oreo brownies, your sweet tooth is going to be very satisfied. Be sure to bring your own containers because you’re going to need them when you buy your haul of vegan treats.

Rock The Shazbah

Your vegan tastebuds will be rocked when Rock The Shazbah features at this week’s bake sale. These are rich, decadent vegan cookie dough and cookies for the kind-hearted and will satisfy any indulgent cravings. Sharon, the owner and founder of Rock The Shazbah, is passionate about living a kind life. And what better way than to start with sweet treats sold at the bake sale for the benefit of saving lambs’ lives.

The Lamb Care Australia vegan bake sale will run on Saturday April 22 at The Vegan Grocery Store in Fitzroy from 11am to 2pm or until all items are sold out. Bring your friends, bring your reusable containers and bring your sweet tooth, too!
